Artist Profile - 

Cindy Quayle, a former fine art gallery owner in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, has an extensive background in painting, art history, and fine art.  Her love of Realism and Old Masters styles is reflected in her detailed architecture, landscape, portrait, and traditional still life paintings. Growing up in the Midwest instilled a deep love of nature and an appreciation of a simpler times in life. Her paintings evoke memories and nostalgia of the past. Many times, her subject matter is featured in a bold, confident, portrait style, as if the object itself is telling the story.  Cindy loves painting outdoors in nature (en plein air) whenever possible, as well as in the studio, painting almost exclusively in oil. 

 

Cindy has received numerous awards for her work as well as being featured in numerous magazines, publications, journals, television features and newspapers in the US and Canada.  Her work is currently on display in galleries and is in several private collections internationally including the USA, Canada, Germany, Austria, and Taiwan.

Cindy has owned a commercial art gallery, framing business, and conducted art classes from 2001 - 2008. She studied art for 6 years in an atelier setting with a master artist while in Canada, and holds an associate's degree with an emphasis on art history and studio art.
