Artist Statement
I’ve spent my life obsessed with the timeless techniques of the Old Masters, but my true passion lies in capturing the world before it fades away. Using traditional oil painting methods, I document the "vanishing" pieces of our landscape—the weathered barns, rusting farm tools, vintage cars, and those rare pockets of untouched wilderness. I like to think I’m not just painting objects; I’m giving these relics a voice to tell their own stories and spark a little nostalgia along the way.
My journey in the art world has been a bit of a whirlwind. From 2001 to 2008, I ran a commercial gallery in Canada, where I did everything from custom framing to teaching art classes. Education-wise, I backed up my passion with an associate’s degree in art history and spent six years of "deep dives" into traditional studio work at a classical atelier.
A highlight for me was being juried into the Oil Painters of America in 2024. Over the years, I’ve been lucky to pick up some wonderful awards and see my work featured in media across the U.S. and Canada. Today, my paintings live in private collections all over the globe—from the USA and Canada to Germany, Austria, and Taiwan.
